Specifications (AS-600)

This specification contains information on th type of coatings that the AS-600 Formulation was designed to work with and procedures for flushing and clean up.

Coating Type:
Isocyanate Urethane, Epoxies, and All Air Cured Coatings.

Procedure for Flushing:
Typical concentration strengths range from 10-20% at 100-110 degrees F.  The pre-heating and diluting can be done automatically in the PolychemÒ PP-15 Unit and placed in an on demand, recirculating line, or tapped as needed, to feed pressure pots, HVLP Units, and all other electrostatic and non-electrostatic automated and and non-automated apparatus.

In Automated Line Flushing Equipment, the AS-600 would circulate from the heated PP-15 tank via a diaghram pump to the color change manifold and back to the PP-15 on a continuous basis thus maintaining the required temperature on demand.

In Manual Flush Applications, the operator would simply tap the required flush amount from the PP-15 tank drain valve into a standard container (5 Gallon Pail) and proceed as normal.  Remember... the only differences in procedure (when using AS-600 verses the current purge solvent) are in the pre-heating and diluting steps, which are automatically done in the PP-15 System. ** Flushing pressure should be no less tha 40 psi.

Coating Type:
Water Bornes

Procedure for Flushing:
Follow the same procedure as above with the following exceptions:  Increase the temperature to 130 degrees F and use at 5-9% dilution ratios. *Although many facilities use water only for line purging, it is often ineffective within a specific time frame.  The use of AS-600 will decrease the line purge time and maintain cleaner bells, cups, and guns.

Clean up Applications for all Coatings:
Pump Tear-Down Parts... Use AS-600 at 25% concentrations in a dip tank at 100 degrees F.  Fully submerge the parts for one to sixty minutes, (depending on the contamination level).  If the paint is cured, higher temperatures (150-180 degrees F) may be required.

Bell/Gun Cleaning... Follow the same procedures as above.  *For precision cleaning, use the PolychemÒ ultrasonic unit which will penetrate blind and small holes.

Wipe-Up/Floor Cleaning, Etc.
Use AS-600 at ambient temperatures (20-30% dilutions) for all hand wipe applications and 10-15% at ambient temps. in floor scrubbers.  Use of heated solutions in all of these applications when possible wll enhance the results.
